I'd like to talk about mostly sports and sports related humor on this blog but I have to share with you my thoughts on why I hate Walmart. Here we go...I boycotted Walmart about 3 or 4 years ago - I hate it. I like the concept of having a store that has everything - I hate having to walk 4.5 miles to get a toothbrush, and a gallon of milk. Anywho - I was out yesterday trying to pick up a new LCD for the basement, and after checking a few prices (Best Buy, Circuit City - who actually have HIGHER prices now that they are going out of business - WTF?) I saw that Walmarts prices and selections were at least $100-150 cheaper. Ok so I go to Walmart - first I had to park in "Guam" - 4 miles away. I finally reach the store, and upon walking in I almost get run over by someone in an electric wheelchair. I make my way through the masses of NASCAR fans, handicap, families of kids crying (I felt like crying), and the elderly who just noticed their elderly friend Gladys, and have stopped (in the middle of the friggin isle) to have a lengthy conversation. So I finally make it back to the electronics section - decide exactly which TV I want, and then start lookin around to tell someone (because its not like they just have them on the shelf). After about 5 minutes, I realize - there isnt anyone working in electronics, except 1 person cashing out a line of about 9 people... GREAT. So I stand in line for about 20 minutes, eventually I get to the front, and I ask the woman - "Who do I ask about purchasing a TV?" - she sighed and replied "I guess that would be me.." (I could feel the 10-12 ppl in line behind me all groaning when she had to start walking with me back to show her which one - whom I wanted to flip off at that point). We made it back to the TVs and I showed her the one I wanted - just then, an apparent coworker magically shows up, overhears our conversatoin, and explains that they are sold out of basically every LCD/Plasma that I wanted. Thats just great.. (Idea..? Maybe put a sign up that says - "We are temporarily sold out of these items" so idiots - like myself - wont waste my time here). So I make my way back past the masses of elderly, handicapped, rednecks, and children, and start walking toward Guam to my truck. Like a glutton for punishment, I call the other Walmart on the other side of town, ask them what they have in stock, and they are sold out as well. I actually then went to Target - found their TVs were in the same low price range, although their selection wasnt as huge, and got a nice Phillips LCD. But back to Walmart - my boycott is back on - I dont' care if they are selling TV's for $1 - I won't go back (ok if they really were selling for $1 I'd consider it).

I know Im going to hell already soooo "welcome to Wal-Mart would you like a cart?"
Walmart is clearly a huge part of the ruination of society. Pretty much everything about the company is evil. That said, most people are never going to realize what Walmart is doing to America, so your boycott or my boycott isn't going to make a difference. Walmart will just force a few employees to work off the clock for a day or two to make up for the lost profits. Not shopping at Walmart at this point is like being in South Central LA during the riots and driving to Pasadena to buy a tv. I try to do what I can to help humanity(conservation, recycling, not driving a hummer, not adding to our overpopulation), but none of it is gonna help, as we are doomed as a species. If I could afford not to shop at Walmart, I wouldn't shop at Walmart, but unfortunately I wasn't born into tens of billions of dollars like the Walton kids.
